In our kids class we combine the principles of antigravity yoga with fun routines and games to make it an exciting and rewarding class which builds their strength and flexibility.

FAQ

Can anyone do antigravity yoga?

Yes! Antigravity yoga us a fun and beneficial experience for kids!  No previous experience of aerial hoop, or any other training, is required. 

We do however advise caution to those with the following conditions: glaucoma, recent Surgery (esp. shoulder, eyes, back, hips, hands or wrist), heart disease or very high or low blood pressure, easy onset vertigo, osteoporosis / bone weakness, recent head injury, cerebral sclerosis, propensity for fainting, carpal tunnel syndrome, severe arthritis, sinusitis or head cold, hiatal hernia, disc herniation or acute discogenic disease, recent stroke, Artificial hips, radiculitis (inflammation of nerve root in spine) ,severe muscle spasms, botox injections (within 6 hours). 

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN AN AERIAL HOOP CLASS?

A kids antigravity yoga class will begin with a warm up and aerial conditioning moves to aid in improving strength, flexibility and grip.

In a beginners class you will learn different ways to get into the hammock as well as a variety of popular aerial tricks. As you advance the tricks get progressively more difficult as you get stronger.

Every class will end with a cool down targeting the muscles we have been using that day.

Is Antigravity Yoga a good workout?

Antigravity Yoga is a complete full body workout which will build strength in your arms, shoulders and upper body as well as strengthening your core. Over time you should also expect to see improvements in your flexibility, balance and coordination as you slowly begin to bend your body to new poses.

How long does it take to learn antigravity yoga?

Our beginners course is tailored so that you will achieve new poses in every class you attend. To build the strength for more advanced poses and sequencing can take 2-3 months depending on fitness ability and the amount of aerial classes attended.

Do you get fit doing antigravity yoga?

Yes absolutely! Studies from show that women who did three 50-minute aerial classes a week for six weeks experienced a change. As well as losing fat you will also gain strength and notice improvements in your range of motion, flexibility.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO AN Antigravity yoga CLASS?

Workout wear that covers the arms and legs. Cotton or cotton blend fabric is best (non-slippery). Tops: A little tighter is better. Bottoms: If wearing tights, make certain they are opaque (non-see through). If wearing sweats, tight around cuff of legs is best. Remember, you will be upside down. Socks are advised as well as a water bottle to stay hydrated. PLEASE NO JEWELRY.
